MIDVALE — Unified police were looking Tuesday for a possible serial convenience store robber.

About 1 a.m., a black man wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans, tan boots, gloves and a blue bandana across his face, entered a 7-Eleven at 8002 at S. State with a knife and demanded money, said Unified Police Lt. Brian Lohrke.

The man went behind the counter to grab an undisclosed amount of money, then took the clerk to a back room, possibly to look for additional money, he said.

He then jumped over the counter and ran out the door.

On March 22, the 7-Eleven at 6852 S. State was robbed by a man with a similar description, who was also armed with a knife, Lohrke said. Neither clerk was injured in the incidents.

Detectives were reviewing surveillance video on Tuesday to try and identify the man. Anyone with information on either robbery can call police at 801-743-7000.
