SALT LAKE CITY — A West Jordan man is facing 25 felony charges after prosecutors said child pornography was found in his home.

Cory Edwards, 45, was charged Monday in 3rd District Court with 25 counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, a third-degree felony.

On April 26, agents from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant at Edwards' home. A woman who answered the door told investigators that she "was disgusted by the idea that anyone was viewing child pornography in her home and she had no idea who might be doing that," the charges state.

Edwards admitted to downloading child pornography, but he said it was nothing explicit. When confronted with a description of the images investigators had viewed, Edwards admitted, "he had indeed downloaded and viewed images of child pornography which were far more explicit that initially explained. However, Edwards did not believe that these images were 'hardcore' and stated that these images were 'just pictures,'" the charges state. "Edwards said that his definition of graphic is more explicit and that he does not see the big deal with bondage."

According to prosecutors, Edwards used search terms such as "jailbait," "jailbait gallery" and "preteen" when looking for child pornography.

"Child pornography is child sex abuse imagery. The downloading, collecting, viewing and trading of this sex abuse imagery causes harm to children. The continued circulation and each new publication of the recorded image of sexual abuse inflicted on a child causes a new injury," the charges state.
