LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A former Utah State University football player who was dropped by the Atlanta Falcons over multiple sexual assault allegations was ordered Tuesday to remain jailed without bail.

Torrey Green's request to be able to post bail was denied during a court hearing in Logan by Judge Brian Cannell, the Herald Journal in Logan [reported](<http://bit.ly/2hsxgxW >).

Green, 23, is accused of assaulting seven women after two new counts were filed against him last month. He was arrested in his home state of California in October. The charges against him include rape, assault and kidnapping.

His attorney, Skye Lazaro, said Tuesday Green maintains his innocence. "I hesitate to call them isolated events, but there is nothing else about him to lead us to believe he is a significant danger to the community," Lazaro argued.

Cache County prosecutor Spencer Walsh countered that the the no-bail order established in October should stay in place.

The charges against Green stem from his time at Utah State and date as far back as 2013. They were filed after prosecutors began another review of reports from multiple women when alleged victims went public with their stories this summer to The Salt Lake Tribune.

Green, a linebacker, was signed as a free agent by the Falcons this summer but cut in August after the sexual assault allegations emerged.

A three-day evidentiary hearing has been scheduled for the end of March.
