RANDOLPH — Veterans Day is an important opportunity to thank and honor those who fought so hard for our freedom.

The students at Rich High School in Randolph, Rich County, wanted to do all they could to share their thanks, and made this video about how much the service of veterans means to them.

"As you look through your news feed, you will see stories of protest," their teacher, Lauren Kennedy, wrote in the video's description. "You will see stories of heated election results and uncertainty about the future. My students and I want to change that."

In the video, the students stand on a stage, one-by-one, sharing photos of veterans who've made a difference in their lives. They then share their heartfelt thanks, in the form of written messages explaining how their lives are blessed because of the service of veterans.

"Because of you..." the messages begin. "I can be myself." "I can choose to be happy." "I can live my dreams."

One of the goals of the video is to remind us that regardless of faults, we are all Americans, and it's inspiring to watch the students' smiles light up as they share their gratitude.

"This Veterans Day, we ask that you look past the faults of our time, and find your love for this country," Kennedy wrote. "To all the veterans who read this, we hope you know how grateful we truly are for you."
