INDIAN CANYON, Duchesne County — A 25-year-old man was killed in a crash on SR-191 on Sunday afternoon.
At about 1 p.m., a man was driving a pickup truck southbound on SR-191 near milepost 256 when it approached a curve on the roadway. Utah Highway Patrol said the truck was traveling too fast for the curve, crossed over the center line and ran off the left side of the roadway.
The truck left the roadway, rolled down an embankment and came to rest in a river.
UHP said 25-year-old Decker Manning of Randlett, Uintah County, was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the truck as it rolled. He died on scene due to injuries sustained in the crash. Police said Manning was the only occupant in the vehicle.
According to UHP, excessive speed is believed to be the primary cause of the crash.
