PLAINFIELD, Ind. (AP) — Indiana State Police say a Utah man has died and nine other people have been injured in a four-vehicle pileup in central Indiana.

Police say the crash occurred Friday afternoon on Interstate 70 about 25 miles west of Indianapolis when a semitrailer driven by 51-year-old Kenneth Geiger Jr. of Princeton failed to slow for traffic and struck a box truck. The impact pushed it into a bus carrying FFA members, and pushed the bus into a van.

Police say the crash killed 19-year-old Jace Roeder of Woods Cross, Utah, a passenger in the box truck.

Seven of the 23 FFA members on the bus were treated for minor injuries. They were returning to Missouri from the organization's national convention in Indianapolis.

Geiger and Roeder's father, 39-year-old Matthew Roeder of Peoria, Arizona, also were injured.
