THE OCEAN — I have a healthy respect for the ocean. It's grand, beautiful and could take me out as easily as me stepping on an ant. The ocean also plays host to a myriad of sea creatures, including the ultimate predators: sharks.

This video captures an amazing and rare sight as a great white shark breaches the side of a shark tank and then eventually swims out of the top. This video really needs to be seen to be believed. I've watched it a few times, and it's still hard for me to comprehend. Not that what happens is logistically impossible, but more so the fact that it's just incredible to see.

The poster of the video explains that the shark was not trying to enter the cage, but rather went for the tuna on the rope and was temporarily blinded, which happens to sharks when they attack. Sharks also cannot swim backward, so when it lunged, it was blind and hit the cage and had nowhere to go but forward.

Watching the shark breach the cage and ultimately pop out the top is amazing on its own, but then a diver emerges from the breached cage unscathed. My heart nearly jumped out of my chest when I realized there was a diver in there. Apparently, the experienced diver escaped through the bottom of the cage, where two other great white sharks were hanging out, and he waited until the great white in the cage was able to escape. Then he calmly swam back up and got on the boat.

Yesterday's Have You Seen This?

The way this diver stayed calm is amazing. I would have blacked out and basically given up. Let's face it people, I've written enough of these that you now know I'm a coward.

Thankfully, no one was hurt, but it appears the shark may have wounded itself a bit. You can see it bleeding as it escapes the cage. Hopefully, the injury wasn't serious and the animal is OK. Yes, they're scary, but I also think they're beautiful and incredible creatures.

Watch this video, share it, talk about it, and then watch it again because that's the kind of video it is.
