PROVO — The Provo City Sanitation Department really wants you to properly dispose of your trash.
Let’s face it— garbage is smelly and gross and not very many people want to talk about it, much less watch a 2-minute video about it. In an effort to better educate the residents, Provo City released a quirky, musical edition for their public service announcement.
The video teaches you a few key things about which trash receptacle houses different types of trash (the bins are color-coded to make it easy), when to put your trash bin on the curb and to please stop filling your trash cans too full. The PSA is sung to the merry tune of “The Infernal Galop” from Jacques Offenbach's “Orpheus in the Underworld,” most commonly-known as the “Can-Can.”
The good news is that now you will never mix up your garbage again and your garbage man will appreciate you. The bad news is that now this song will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day. You’re welcome.
