Car help

Carol L.

“I own a 2003 Honda Accord ... with over 150,000 miles on it. Sept. 14, I stopped by Discount Tires in West Jordan to check my tire pressure. The man who was checking the tire pressure said he could not fill the tire on the back passenger side, because the tire was worn to the steel mesh. So after getting a quote for two tires, he put my spare tire on, and I went home.

“I went back Sept. 18 to get two new tires in the front and rotate the best of the bad ones on the back. The man asked how much can I afford for the tires. I said $120. He said, ‘Okay,’ and guess what he did? He gave me four new tires for the price of two. This kindness made my winter. I would have had to park my car for the winter and use my husband’s truck, which is way too big for me. Thank you Discount Tires for your kindness and service.”

A helpful hug

Claire W.

“My phone rang, and I got the news that my younger brother who had been fighting AIDS for some time was near the end of his battle and someone needed to come to him. I had been with him, miles from home, for several days and was feeling quite overwhelmed and lonely. While in the ICU waiting room, a complete stranger came up to me and said, ‘You look like you need a hug.’ If there was ever anyone who needed a hug, it was me, right then. I gladly accepted her warm embrace. It has been 16 years since I lost my brother, but in all the sadness, I will never forget the love of a stranger.”
