ROY — A 59-year-old man is dead and two others suffered minor injuries after a three-car crash Wednesday night, police said.

Emergency crews responded to a report of the crash at the intersection of Midland Drive and 3100 West at about 7:30 p.m., Roy Police Detective Joshua Taylor said.

Taylor said a vehicle was traveling on 3100 West and turned left to travel south on Midland Drive. Another vehicle traveling north on Midland Drive struck the first vehicle before veering into the path of another vehicle, Taylor said.

Taylor said the driver of the vehicle traveling north on Midland Drive, identified as Carey Mikesell, was killed in the crash.

A 16-year-old driver of the vehicle traveling on 3100 West and a 34-year-old woman driving the third vehicle involved in the wreck were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, Taylor added. He said a 14-year-old passenger in the third vehicle was also transported to a local hospital by a family member as a precaution.

Taylor said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
