SALT LAKE CITY — It’s no secret that Mondays are hard. After a nice, relaxing weekend, work probably doesn’t sound like the ideal place to be.

Fortunately, at KSL.com, we ease Monday mornings a little by sharing uplifting stories with our readers.

Drive-thru kindness

Katia B.

“Sept. 22, I went through The Park 5’s drive-thru to get my favorite soda. The person in front of me paid for $5 of my bill, because the person in front of her paid for her bill — this was the beginning of paying it forward. I loved the reaction of the employees as I decided to also pay it forward to the car behind me. Sept. 23, as I was scanning my Instagram, The Park 5 related the story of paying it forward. Apparently about 35 cars participated in this. So glad to be a part of community!”

Help during a storm

Mary F.

“I live in West Valley City and just watched between 3:45 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. workers from (I think it is still Rocky Mountain Power) come in the night with just lights from their hats and a little spotlight cut down a birch tree that was hanging on the electrical wires and repair the wires against the house across the street. It was called in about 12 hours ago, but because they still had electricity, they said they had to wait. I think they deserve a big shoutout for working so hard in this storm, in the dark and for a good part of the last 15 hours in the rain and the wind.”
