TOOELE COUNTY — Five individuals were injured in two different crashes Monday night, Tooele County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

The vehicle originally held three individuals who were on their way to pick up two friends who had been in a minor accident near the Vernon Reservoir, approximately 5 miles south of Vernon.

The two individuals in the minor accident had crashed into a tree and did not want to be taken by ambulance to the hospital, as they had very minor injuries, police said.

After picking up the two individuals, the second vehicle went off the road and rolled about a mile from the initial crash, leaving the two individuals from the first accident with neck and back injuries. Airmed transported them to the University of Utah Hospital in unknown condition.

The three others in the vehicle received very minor injuries, police said.

Names of the victims have not been released.
