SALT LAKE CITY — From the bizarre and random to the intense and tragic, our readers submit a wide variety of photos each week.

This week’s gallery features a great wildlife shot of a snake eating a fish in a local stream. While some may consider it a little morbid, it’s interesting to witness the cycle of life continuing on in nature.

Other residents snapped pictures of the various wildfires that have continued to burn around the state, including one in Spanish Fork Canyon and a large fire near the Utah/Wyoming border. The fire near Wyoming had burned eight structures as of Saturday evening, and as of Tuesday morning, it was 36 percent contained.

Some photos were also submitted of the accident that occurred at the Heber City demolition Derby on Saturday night. Three people were injured after a metal driving shift flew into the stands.
