That’s right. We’re talking about THE Magnolia Home, created by Joanna and Chip Gaines and made famous on HGTV’s Fixer Upper. This year’s Parade of Homes (July 29 to August 13) includes two unique homes in Daybreak, one of which has been decked out in furnishings from Magnolia Home.

“And that’s not even the most exciting part,” says Heather Osmond of Osmond Designs, which is supplying the Magnolia Home décor. “We just received Magnolia’s brand-new rug designs. These haven’t been available anywhere else yet. So if you want to be one of the first to see them, you have to come to the Parade of Homes at Daybreak.”

A grand home on a hill

Just as spectacular as the furnishings from Magnolia Home is the home they’re going into. Built by Rainey Homes, it’s set on a hillside with panoramic views of Oquirrh Lake and the Wasatch Range. “The lake creates this serene outdoorsy feeling that goes so well with Magnolia’s farmhouse style,” Heather explains. “Daybreak is the perfect location to showcase Magnolia Home.”

And Heather ought to know. She has designed a number of homes in Daybreak, and her familiarity with the community has evolved into a long-term love affair with the place. “We love working with people in Daybreak. They just seem to be more design-oriented,” she says. “And the homes have so much color and so much personality that it makes it fun for designers.”

Rooftop deck, real town living

Daybreak’s other Parade home is also inspired by its proximity to Oquirrh Lake. It’s one of the Sky Terrace townhomes by Sego Homes. The townhome has a rooftop deck that gives you 360-degree views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. From up there, you can even enjoy the outdoor concerts that take place on the green a couple blocks away.

And since Sky Terrace is part of Daybreak’s SoDa Row village center — with its assortment of boutiques and eateries — this is a townhome that comes with an actual town.
