LAS VEGAS — Only one local basketball player played on a winning team in Saturday’s NBA Summer League quarterfinals in Las Vegas.

Former BYU post Brandon Davies and the Chicago Bulls advanced to the semifinals. Here’s how the rest of the players with local ties did.

Chicago 88, Washington 85 — Davies contributed three points and four rebounds in nearly 14 minutes off the bench in the Bulls’ narrow win over the Wizards.

The former BYU post who finished last season in Italy had a plus-minus rating of plus-6 for the Bulls (5-0), who were led by 17 points and nine rebounds from Bobby Portis.

Jared Eddie scored 22 points to lead Washington (3-2).

Minnesota 81, Toronto 79 — Former Utah teammates Delon Wright and Jakob Poeltl combined for 13 points in the Raptors’ loss to the Timberwolves.

Wright finished with seven points, eight rebounds and three assists for Toronto (4-1), and Poeltl added six points, even rebounds and two blocked shots. But the 7-foot Austrian had the play of the day when a missed shot got stuck on the standard.

With a Poeltl’s long limbs, a broomstick and a little creativity, the ball didn’t stand a chance.

Xavier Silas led Minnesota (3-3) with 22 points, and Tyus Jones scored 21 for the Timberwolves.

Phoenix 82, Denver 81 — Tyler Ulis’ last-second 3-pointer in overtime gave the Suns a comeback win over Jimmer Fredette and the Nuggets.

Luis finished with 19 points for the Suns (4-1), who missed two free throws with 0.1 seconds remaining to go to the extra period.

Fredette, a former BYU star and national player of the year, finished with 16 points and one assist for the Nuggets (3-2), who were led by Jamal Murray’s 29 points and seven rebounds.
