LOS ANGELES — Former Pleasant Grove star C.J. Wilcox is reportedly on the move.
The Los Angeles Clippers, who drafted Wilcox in the first round of the 2014 NBA Draft, are reportedly on the verge of a deal to send the former Washington wing to Orlando, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
In a career beset by injuries, Wilcox averaged 3.0 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 7.3 minutes per game for the Clippers in 2015-16. But his minutes decreased in Los Angeles as the season ended, including three DNPs in the Clips’ postseason series against the Trailblazers. In his final game in a Clippers uniform, Wilcox registered just one assist in six minutes of a 106-103 loss at Portland. The 25-year-old, who played two years at the University of Washington, could get a new start with the Magic, who will receive Devyn Marble and a 2020 second-round pick in the trade. Marble is entering the final season of a three-year deal, with a contract that will become guaranteed Friday. The Clippers would also send cash to the Magic to cover Wilcox’s deal.
The Clippers also added another point guard in Dallas reserve Raymond Felton. He'll back up Chris Paul and Austin Rivers in his 11th season in the NBA.
The Los Angeles Times first reported the trade.
