Summer Locals: Wright, Poeltl help Raptors past Mavs; Fredette shines in loss

LAS VEGAS — Former University of Utah teammates Delon Wright and Jakob Poeltl showed off some of their renewed chemistry Monday evening for Toronto in an NBA Summer League win over the Dallas Mavericks.

Here's how the rest of former local stars did.

Toronto 80, Dallas 69 — Wright and Poeltl started again for the Raptors, finishing with eight points and nine points, respectively, in a win over the Mavericks.

Wright also had five assists, two rebounds and a steal to finish with a plus-12 rating, while Poeltl chipped in seven rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot for a plus-13 rating. Norman Powell led Toronto (3-0) with 23 points.

Former BYU point guard Kyle Collinsworth had four points, three rebounds and one assist off the bench for Dallas. Jameel Warney had 14 points off the bench to pace the Mavericks (1-1).

Miami 92, Denver 81 — Former BYU star Jimmer Fredette continued to pour in points in the Nuggets' loss to the Heat.

Fredette pumped in 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting, and added two assists, two rebounds and a steal for the Nuggets (2-1). Jamal Murray led the way with a game-high 29 points for Denver.

Rodney McGruder scored 23 to lead Miami (1-1).
