SOUTH SALT LAKE CITY — Police asked for help Wednesday to identify two men who brandished guns while threatening a store employee in South Salt Lake.
The robbery occurred at Smoker’s Point, located at 283 W. 3300 South, at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the South Salt Lake City Police Department. Investigators said the men “loaded a large bag with cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash from the register” before leaving through the back entrance.
Police said the two men, who were observed running towards 300 East from the store, should be considered armed and dangerous. The store employee they threatened was not injured during the robbery.
Investigators described one robber as being a white man who has a mustache and long goatee. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black baseball hat and gray shirt with long sleeves that had a Pittsburgh Steelers pin on the collar. The second man was wearing a black face mask and black clothing.
Anyone with information about the robbery or the identities of the two men can contact the South Salt Lake Police Department’s dispatch by calling 801-840-4000. Police said members of the public who see the men should not approach them.
