Using 2015 Social Security Administration data on baby name popularity, data analysts at MooseRoots, a Graphiq vertical search engine, determined which baby names have experienced the steepest trend up since 2013 by studying each name’s year-over-year popularity and calculating its ascent. The top five names for each gender are included. In the case of ties, the names were sorted alphabetically.

#10. Theodore

**Gender:** Male **Average Yearly Change:** 404 **Frequency per 1M Babies in 2013:** 1,220 **Frequency per 1M Babies in 2015:** 2,028

Meaning "gift and God," the Greek name Theodore only ranked No. 169 in 2013, but increased to No. 99 by 2015.

#9. Lincoln

**Gender:** Male **Average Yearly Change:** 450 **Frequency per 1M Babies in 2013:** 2,040 **Frequency per 1M Babies in 2015:** 2,940

The name Lincoln, meaning "lake and settlement," climbed to the rank of No. 66 in 2015, a noted increase from its 2013 rank of No. 95.

Sebastian, a name of English origin, earned the No. 35 spot among male babies in 2015, but in 2013 it only placed at No. 45.

Oliver, a name of English origin, experienced a major surge in popularity from 2013 to 2015, ascending from the rank of No. 52, all the way to No. 19, designating it the fastest-rising male name of the year.

The short form of Alexandra, the Latin and Roman name Alexa ranked No. 60 in 2013, climbing the ranks to No. 32 by 2015.

Scarlett, a name of English origin, ranked No. 42 in 2013, catapulting to the rank of No. 22 by 2015.
