AMALGA, Cache County — A 57-year-old Idaho man died when his truck drifted off the road and into an embankment Sunday morning, police said.

At 10:37 a.m., Utah Highway Patrol responded to an accident on state Route 218 just outside of Amalga, which is west of Smithfield. UHP found a semitruck with a tanker that apparently had drifted off the road to the right side and rolled down an embankment.

Salvador Lemus-Tellez, 57, of Kimberly, Idaho, was found deceased in the cab of the truck, according to police.

The tanker appeared to be loaded with an agricultural product, possibly whey, police said.

It was unclear what time the truck rolled as no emergency calls were made reporting the crash and no witnesses have been located, according to a UHP spokesman.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
