AMMON, Idaho — YouTube star Alex Boye is in east Idaho this week, and when he heard about Jenny Bess, he decided to pay her a visit.
Bess, who just turned 36 years old, was diagnosed with stage four cancer last September after giving birth to her fifth child. Doctors say she will undergo chemotherapy every other week for the rest of her life.
The brave mother has been a fan of Boye's music for years. She's watched his career grow from performing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir to appearing on "America's Got Talent" to having nearly 300 million people watch videos on his YouTube channel.
Boye decided to team up with EastIdahoNews.com and surprise Bess Monday evening. Her family was at a neighbor's home with some friends when we showed up with cameras.
Boye sang one of his hits, "Heart of A Lion," gave her family tickets to his Idaho Falls concert and left Bess with some encouraging words.
