SALT LAKE CITY — Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are celebrating Christmas across the nation.

'A Savior Is Born'

This month, Latter-day Saints are participating in the LDS Church "A Savior is Born" campaign by sharing this video.

"A Savior Is Born" centers around finding, knowing and following the teachings of Jesus Christ, according to the LDS Church.

Advertising Age recently ranked "A Savior is Born" as the ninth most-viewed in this year's top holiday campaigns. "Perhaps the least expected member of the list, in a season dominated by commercial messaging, is a campaign sponsored by the Mormon Church," Advertising Age wrote on its website.

In the video, children around the world quote Isaiah and express their testimonies of Christ.

The video has been viewed millions of times around the world and was recognized by Advertising Age's weekly viral video chart as the fourth most-watched video the week of Christmas.

Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir

The LDS Church's annual Christmas concert in the Conference Center took place Dec. 17-19.

Joining the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Orchestra at Temple Square and Bells on Temple Square was four members of the Metropolitan Opera, British actor Martin Jarvis and Broadway singer and actress Laura Osnes.

During a news conference Dec. 18, Jarvis said he heard the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on recordings while living in London and had seen them on television more recently.

He "had the thought that I would never have the chance to perform with them," he said. He also said his experience in the performance was "an uplifting celebration."

The concert featured traditional Christmas carols and the story of George Frideric Handel's experience writing the "Messiah."

Interfaith concert

Together in Los Angeles, about 600 Latter-day Saints and Baptists gathered for a Christmas concert at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church Dec. 13.

As per Baptist tradition, guests were encouraged to clap along with the music and say "amen" as pastors and speakers spoke about Christ's birth.

Alex Boyé performed an Africanized song accompanied by a tribal drum. He also sang "Silent Night" and "Mary Did you Know?"

The Celebration Mass Choir from Mount Moriah Baptist Church sang a trio of Christian-based Christmas songs and Latter-day Saints Rachel and Peter Mugemancuro did a violin and piano duet for the audience.

"What I saw tonight was unity under the umbrella of Jesus Christ," Pastor L. A. Kessee of the Bethany Baptist Church said.
