FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — About 30 people with multiple sclerosis took turns flying aboard single-engine planes as part of an effort to raise awareness for the disease.
The South Florida Sun Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1SztMFi ) reports "Fly for MS" is a program that helps lift the spirits of people with the condition and generate donations.
"Fly for MS" volunteer pilots Fouad Ahmed and Tomas Vykruta arrived in Fort Lauderdale Monday as part of the tour for the National MS Society.
Ahmed says they will cover about 32 cities in 18 countries over a period of three months.
In every stop, up to 25 people will take turns flying in the planes for about 20 minutes.
Karen Dresbach of the National MS Society says the organization helps fund research for a cure and provides services for families.
