SALT LAKE CITY — A bicyclist was killed early Wednesday when he collided with the second of two trailers being pulled by a semitrailer, according to police.
Anthony Johnson, 25, was riding his bicycle north on Redwood Road about 7 a.m. when a semitrailer, also traveling north, made a right turn to go onto the on-ramp for eastbound I-80, said Salt Lake police detective Dennis McGowan.
As the semitrailer made the turn, the second trailer and Johnson collided, McGowan said. Details about what exactly happened were not immediately known Wednesday.
The driver, who didn't stop, had not been located as of Wednesday afternoon. Detectives don't know if the driver realizes they hit someone.
Johnson was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests had been made or citations issued as of Wednesday afternoon.
