PROVO — Family, friends and Provo Police were working Tuesday to find a mother of five who disappeared over the weekend.
Family members said 41-year-old Nicole Harris was last seen leaving her home on Saturday.
"She is a fun, energetic woman with a kind and generous heart," said cousin Angela Fanjul. "We're so worried about her."
Friends spent Tuesday afternoon and evening searching the Provo foothills around Rock Canyon, while family members posted flyers around the city and police tracked down leads in the case.
Cody Sanders, a friend of Harris, said she liked to hike.
"We've looked around a lot of the cliff areas, but have also been looking around the brush areas," Sanders said.
Sanders said Harris left without her keys and cell phone. Family members in a statement described Harris as "emotionally vulnerable."
"The most important thing for us is to find her," Fanjul said.
A larger volunteer search was planned for Wednesday morning. Searchers were asked to join Harris' brothers and friends at the parking lot at the mouth of Rock Canyon at 9:00 a.m. Family members set up a public Facebook page.
"She's well-known by many people and loved, and whether she's out on her own or maybe she's somewhere where she can actually see this message - I just pray that she'll make contact with her family and that we can find her safe and sound," Sanders said.
Harris is said to be 5-foot-9 and about 150 lbs, with brown eyes and blonde hair. Police said she was last seen wearing a black shirt and khaki pants.
