THE PORCH — California homeowner David Hernandez got quite the surprise recently when he checked the footage from his surveillance cameras at his home.
The surprise came in the form of Jewels, his 20-pound French bulldog, who went into attack mode when two juvenile bears ventured onto the property. This pup was not messing around as she charged the bears fearlessly.
"It blew me away. I couldn't believe it, that she turned into a wolverine," Hernandez told WSBT.
The fact that the bears each weigh approximately 100 pounds each didn't stop the dog. Luckily for Jewels, she had the element of surprise on her side, and the bears seemed more surprised and curious by the dog's ferocity and didn't feel threatened.
Instead, they left the property tout suite, and maybe they'll think twice before returning to the Hernandez home.
No matter how amazing these videos are, those who are preparing for the Bearpocalypse — like our regular contributor John Clyde — will only have fear added to the fire when they see the ability level of the bears as they avoid the dog.
