THE DOJO OF ADORABLE — Little children have a way of teaching us life lessons. They don't mean to be wise beyond their years but, all too often, they are.

For example, my 2-year-old son reminded me of the virtue of patience when he pulled everything out the freezer while I was vacuuming the bedrooms and then dumped his sister's "Pixie Dust" — a bag of sugar — all over the bedroom carpet while I was cleaning the freezer mess.

He's like a miniature Mr. Miyagi with a worse grasp on the English language. He teaches me patience by driving me insane.

This little martial artist in a video is going for his white belt and teaches us a valuable lesson — the virtue of perseverance.

The little dude is trying to break a board with his foot, but it proves difficult when he clearly doesn't understand what the instructor is asking of him, nor does he have strong control over his motor functions.

Despite the giggles of those around him and failure after failure, this tiny taekwondo student never gives up and eventually succeeds.

It's a great reminder to us that it doesn't matter if people are pointing and laughing at our efforts, because what really matters is we're trying our best and never giving up. It also helps when your mentor or teacher has the patience of a redwood tree, but that's not the focus right now.

Thanks for the reminder, little marital arts master. We will try to be more like you.
