BLUE YONDER — In my opinion as a daughter, there’s not much that tops the potential happiness of a daddy-daughter outing.
There was magic and solace in that one-on-one time I spent as a kid with my father, when no siblings were teasing and poking and generally being obnoxious, as is any sibling’s habit. I could monopolize all of Dad’s attention without distraction.
Daddy-daughter activities don’t need to be grand to be effective (ours certainly weren’t), but in the case of 4-year-old Lea, the lofty activity in this video was seemingly the best thing that has ever happened to her in her short life.
Her French-Canadian father, pilot Raphael Langumier, might shame all other fathers with his recent daddy-daughter outing — taking Lea on her first aerobatic flight.
The pair take off in a small plane, which seems to make Lea happy enough, but what really gets her giggling with abandon is the aerobatic tricks like sudden dips and loop-de-loops. She even shouts “again!” over and over throughout the flight.
If Lea’s displays of pure delight in this video don’t make you grin from ear-to-ear, you might need to get your feelings checked by a doctor.
Happy Father’s Day to Mr. Langumier and all dads celebrating this Father’s Day!
