SALT LAKE CITY — After a short stay in the hospital, Elder L. Tom Perry, 92, a member of the LDS Church's Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, returned home Wednesday night and is resting comfortably.

Wednesday afternoon, church spokesman Eric Hawkins said Elder Perry was in the hospital "for tests and observation following some breathing difficulties."

Elder Perry has been an apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 41 years, making him the second-most senior member of the Quorum of the Twelve.
