OGDEN — A 22-year-old woman remained hospitalized in an intensive care unit Monday after a teenage driver allegedly ran a stop sign and caused a four-car crash.
Mayra Ramirez was driving a Ford Explorer about 2:30 a.m. Sunday when she was hit in the intersection of 27th Street and Harrison Boulevard when police say a car driven by a 17-year-old boy ran a stop sign.
The SUV rolled and stopped several feet from the intersection. After hitting the SUV, the teen's vehicle continued through the intersection and hit a parked car. The boy and an 18-year-old woman who was in the passenger seat both sustained serious injuries, police said.
Ramirez was listed in serious condition Monday with multiple fractures and head injuries, according to police. Her 19-year-old passenger, a woman whose name was not released, has since been released from the hospital.
Investigators believe the 17-year-old driver, whose name was not immediately released, was intoxicated on either alcohol or drugs.
