BRIGHAM CITY, Utah (AP) — Police say traffic in Brigham City was temporarily blocked after a semi-truck crash left Main Street flooded with sweet cream.
Brigham City Interim Police Chief Mike Nelson says witnesses observed the truck's brakes smoking on Thursday as it came down a canyon on Highway 89. Unable to stop for a red light on Main Street, the truck turned right and rolled over, spilling 5,780 gallons of cream originally destined for Nebraska.
The Bear River Health Department was on scene to oversee the cleanup and the Utah Department of Transportation delivered sand to put on top of the sweet cream to make it less slippery.
Nelson says the driver, a 58-year-old Arkansas man, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
