SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz have acquired Steve Novak from the Toronto Raptors, according to Yahoo! Sports.

The Jazz will send former D-Leaguer Diante Garrett to the Raptors for Novak and a future second round draft pick, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Friday afternoon.

Novak, a 6-foot-10 forward, will give the Jazz a good shooting presence behind the arc as a probable stretch four. Novak shoots a career 43 percent behind the arc and has averaged 5 points and 1.4 rebounds per game in his career.

Last year, the Jazz were ranked 25th in the league in 3-point shooting, averaging 34 percent. Novak has seen his minutes diminish since joining the Raptors, appearing in only 54 games and averaging only 10 minutes per game, but could be a good role player on a Jazz team looking for some shooting.

Novak has two years left on his contract, where he will make approximately $7.2 million for the length of the contract. Garrett had a non-guaranteed contract for $915,000 for the 2014-15 season.

Garrett was called up from the D-League early in the 2013-14 season after rookie point guard Trey Burke was sidelined with an injury. Garrett signed a contract with the team, which was extended for the remainder of the season. Garrett averaged 3.5 points, 1.7 assists and 1.4 rebounds with the Jazz.

The trade can't be made official until the NBA's moratorium ends on July 10.
