SALT LAKE CITY — ABC's "The Quest" will be looking for contestants who have what it takes to be a hero as it auditions potential reality stars for season two on July 3 at the Salt Palace.

The show will be looking for individuals who are prepared to embark on a quest to become the "One True Hero."

“We could not imagine a more perfect place to recruit more cast members for what we hope will be another groundbreaking season of THE QUEST. FantasyCon is a perfect match for our show and ABC agreed that we couldn’t let the opportunity pass to put potential ideal constants on tape,” the executive producing team said in a release.

The show, which is a mix of live action role playing, Dungeons and Dragons and something akin to "Survivor," features ogres, dragons and a dark lord who must be stopped. The One True Hero will save the day, and the kingdom, in the fashion of the best fantasy stories.

Produced by a team that includes former producers from The Lord of the Rings trilogy and "The Amazing Race," they have created an immersive and challenging experience for contestants who have what it takes.

"The Quest" will also be sponsoring FantasyCon's battle arena, where guests can learn how to wield weapons and become Dragon Warriors at a special academy. The Salt Lake Pops Orchestra will also be on site, performing themes to inspire acts of heroism.

Season 1 of "The Quest" starts July 31, and features three Utahns. Auditions for Season 2 will take place at the Salt Palace on July 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those in line by 4 p.m. will have a chance to audition. Only those with passes to FantasyCon will be able to audition.
