SALT LAKE CITY — Gov. Gary Herbert's deputy chief of staff is stepping down to spend more time with her family.
Ally Isom announced Friday that Nov. 22 will be her last day.
"While it has truly been an honor to serve in this administration with such a phenomenal group of colleagues and friends, it's simply time to spend more time with my family and be more available for those things that matter most," she said.
Herbert appointed Isom deputy chief of staff and communications director in December 2010. She previously worked as the government affairs director for the Utah Department of Workforce Services.
Isom also worked in public affairs for the Salt Lake City office of R&R Partners and managed former Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff's first two election campaigns.
A graduate of BYU, Isom majored in political science and minored in communications. She has also served on the Kaysville City Council.
