SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah football team entered the final week of fall camp naming the captains and the depth chart looks to be taking shape.

Travis Wilson, Jeremiah Tofaeono, Tenny Palepoi, and Trevor Reilly were elected by their team members as the team captains.

Reilly was voted by a "landslide," as coach Whittingham called it.

One of the more possibly surprising selections was sophomore quarterback Travis Wilson. "It tells you what the team thinks about Travis." Coach Whittingham said. "We expect him to be a great leader."

Travis Wilson was obviously honored to have been named a team captain adding, "I am really happy and thankful that my teammates believe in me and that I am worthy to be a captain. It is definitely a great honor."

The depth chart is also looking to get finalized soon as it is now Adam Schulz taking the backup quarterback slot and Conner Manning holding down the third spot. Coach Whittingham noted that Manning and Brandon Cox were fighting for the third spot with Manning earning most of the reps. It is very possible that both Manning and Cox redshirt depending on what happens with injuries in the 2013 season.

At running back, James Poole has claimed the number two spot behind Kelvin York. Lucky Radley and Karl Williams are listed third and fourth respectively.

Michael Walker has been listed as the started at strong safety next to Eric Rowe. "Michael Walker has been a pleasant surprise this camp."

Michael Walker said after practice, "Just being out here gives me the desire to play better and harder because you never know when it's your last turn. Having a teammate pass away in a car accident opened my eyes to make me go hard every chance I get."
