Coleman Meier and the Olympus Titans will never forget their first round playoff win over Springville.

Tied at 37 with 11 seconds left in the game Olympus went with a play they call "ace flipper option" and executed it to perfection.

Quarterback Chase Manning threw a pass to Spencer Williams who pitched the ball to Connor Haller. Haller then pitched the ball to Meier who beat the Springville defense to the end zone with 1.8 seconds left giving the Titans a win to remember.

"It all just worked perfectly," Meier said after scoring the game winning touchdown. "I saw the end zone and just ran as hard as I could for the final play."

The play has gone viral with sports fans across the country enjoying the play. Olympus is enjoying the win.

"When he crossed the goal line I thought Merry Christmas Olympus," says head coach Aaron Whitehead.

There were several upsets in the first round of the playoffs the biggest surprises coming in 5A.

Pleasant Grove went on the road and stunned 2nd ranked and undefeated Davis 22-15.

Lone Peak did the same to 4th ranked Syracuse 21-13.

Region 4 swept all four Region 1 teams out of the playoffs in the first round. A region 1 team had reached the state championship in five of the last six seasons.

Olympus was one of two road teams to win 4A first round playoff games. Salem Hills was the other making the short trip to Orem and defeating the Tigers 35-14.

All six playoff teams from the 3AA South region will advance to the quarterfinals after Cedar knocked off Park City and Hurricane upset Bear River on the road.
