OGDEN — Parker Van Dyke scored 29 points to lead East into the 4A quarterfinals with a 68-62 victory over Murray.

Van Dyke was 9-of-21 from the field and went 9-10 from the free throw line. He also scored 11 straight points for the Leopards in the 4th quarter.

Murray trailed by as much as 13 in the 2nd half but used a 12-0 run to cut East's lead to one. Murray could have tied the game with a free throw but missed and could never take the lead.

Nate Aland had a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds while freshman guard AJ Hodges scored 15 points for Murray.

East shot 43 percent from the three-point line including a stretch in the 2nd quarter where they made 5-of-6 three-point attempts.

The Leopards will face Logan in Thursday's quarterfinals at 4:10 pm. The Grizzlies shocked defending 4A state champion Orem in the first round.
