(Ogden) - Jarom Tye and McKay Johnson both scored 14 points and Viewmont upset Northridge 56-43 in the first round of the 5A state tournament.

The Vikings trailed 26-25 at the end of the first half but would shoot 50 percent from the field in the 2nd half. They held Northridge to just 17 percent shooting in the 2nd half.

Northridge attempted 41 3-point shots and only made 7. They were 2-for-21 from the 3-point line in the 2nd half.

Viewmont will play No. 2 Brighton on Wednesday, Feb. 27th at 2:30 p.m.
