SALT LAKE CITY — A couple weeks removed from Utah’s last game of the 2019 season, the Pac-12 released the 2020 football schedule.
Utah will host six home games at Rice-Eccles Stadium in 2020 and will open up the season at home against in-state rival BYU on Thursday, Sept. 3. The Utes currently hold a nine-game winning streak over the Cougars and look to claim its longest-ever winning streak over BYU.
The Utes will also welcome to Rice-Eccles Stadium this season Montana State (Sept. 12), USC (Friday, Oct. 2), Washington (Oct. 17), Arizona (Nov. 7) and Oregon State (Nov. 14). Utah will play one game on the road in nonconference play at Wyoming on Sept. 19, and then will begin conference play on the road against California on Sept. 26.
Utah will travel to Washington State (Oct. 10), UCLA (Thursday, Oct. 29), Arizona State (Nov. 21) and Colorado (Nov. 28). The Utes will have only one bye this season on Oct. 24, as opposed to the two bye weeks last season.
The schedule features two instances where Utah will have back-to-back weeks with road games, including at Wyoming and at California, and then at the end of the season at Arizona State and at Colorado.
Utah comes into the 2020 season as the two-time South Division champion, and favorite to win the Pac-12 in 2019. The Utes, however, lose nearly every starter on the defensive side of the ball and its starting quarterback and starting running back on offense coming into the 2020 season.
