O'Brien, Swopshire lift Colgate past Loyola (Md) in OT 66-56

BALTIMORE (AP) — Sean O'Brien and Jordan Swopshire each hit 3-pointers in overtime and Colgate overcame a seven-point, second-half deficit to beat Loyola (Maryland), 66-56 in a Patriot League battle Sunday afternoon.

Colgate held a 31-23 advantage at the half, but Loyola came back strong in the second half and led by seven with 7:25 left after a Jarred Jones layup. O'Brien hit back-to-back layups to cap a 9-2 run that tied the game at 49-49 with 3:49 remaining.

Andrew Kostecka hit a 3-pointer with 1:29 left to give Loyola a 52-49 advantage, but Will Rayman's 3-point play with :20 left forced overtime.

Neither team scored for more than three minutes of overtime. O'Brien broke the drought with a 3-pointer with 2:16 to play.

O'Brien finished with 18 points to lead the Raiders (10-19, 8-8), with Swopshire adding another 16 points off the bench.

Cam Gregory scored 13 points to lead Loyola (14-13, 8-8).
