CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) — Trae Anderson scored 27 points and pulled down 12 rebounds and Demetrius McReynolds also had a double-double to lead Eastern Illinois over Southeast Missouri 78-69 on Saturday.
Anderson was 12 of 17 from the field while McReynolds scored 16 points and had 11 rebounds for the Panthers (11-13, 7-4), who remain atop the Ohio Valley Conference's West Division with their fifth straight victory. Cornell Johnston had three 3-pointers, 11 points and seven assists.
Antonius Cleveland scored 15 points and collected 10 rebounds for the Redhawks (5-19, 2-9), who have lost three in a row.
Southeast Missouri led 42-40 at halftime but the Panthers, getting 3-pointers from Johnston and Anderson, came out in the second half on a 12-2 run and never trailed again.
The Redhawks didn't have a field goal in the final 3½ minutes with McReynolds and Luke Norman adding free throws for EIU in the final 30 seconds.
