GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Keyontae Johnson had a career-high 25 points to go along with 11 rebounds _ his fourth double-double in Florida’s last six games _ and the Gators handled LSU from start to finish in a 81-66 victory. Scottie Lewis also enjoyed a career night for Florida. He finished with 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting. The Gators won for the fourth time in five games and bolstered their NCAA Tournament resume. The Tigers have dropped four of their last five on the road. Emmitt Williams led the Tigers with 24 points. Skylar Mays had his worst game of the season.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Mason Jones scored a game-high 37 points and Arkansas started the game on a 14-1 run and never trailed in an 86-69 win over Tennessee. Jones, the SEC's leading scorer, scored nine of the 14 to start the game. He was joined in double figures by teammates Isaiah Joe and Desi Sills, who had 22 and 13 respectively. Tennessee’s 10 first-half turnovers were its demise. The Razorbacks scored 18 points in the opening 20 minutes off those Volunteers giveaways. In response, Tennessee countered with just three points off three Arkansas turnovers in the same span. Jordan Bowden led Tennessee with 19 points.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Alanzo Frink had a career-high 22 points, Jermaine Couisnard had five foul shots in overtime and South Carolina rallied past Georgia 94-90. Frink led a South Carolina interior that posted 54 points in the paint, an offensive outburst for which the Bulldogs had no answer. Maik Kotsar had 19 points and 10 rebounds for South Carolina. Teammate Keyshawn Bryant also had a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards. Georgia freshman Anthony Edwards scored 36 points, 24 of those in the second half or overtime.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — .Vanderbilt interim athletic director Candice Storey Lee knows Commodores' fans want specifics about what the Southeastern Conference's only private university will do to upgrade athletic facilities. She promised Wednesday night the athletics strategic plan plan Vanderbilt released is only a first step and always was going to be words only. Lee says now the action begins, and she wants Commodores' fans to hold Vanderbilt accountable with more information to come. The only project announced involves fundraising to improve the Commodores' football locker room inside McGugin Center, which is across the street from the football stadium.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Xavier Pinson scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half, and the Missouri Tigers beat Vanderbilt 61-52 for their first Southeastern Conference road win this season. The Tigers had not won away from Columbus since a victory at Georgia on March 6, 2019. Now Missouri has won four straight against Vanderbilt, giving the Tigers their longest current winning streak against any SEC team. Third-year coach Cuonzo Martin also improved to 6-2 all-time against the Commodores. Vanderbilt now has lost six straight and struggled to shoot for a big chunk of the game.

UNDATED (AP) — Georgia football coach Kirby Smart is trying to turn his program into the Alabama of the SEC East. His latest move to make that happen is hiring away from the Crimson Tide the man Nick Saban has entrusted with setting the culture in which the process thrives. On this week's AP Top 25 College Football Podcast, Max Olson of The Athletic joins the AP's Ralph D. Russo to discuss Georgia's hiring of longtime Alabama strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran. Plus, Colorado makes Karl Dorrell a surprising pick to be head coach and why more freedom for college football player transfers doesn't necessarily mean more opportunities.
