UNDATED (AP) — No. 17 Arizona State plays at No. 13 Utah with the Pac-12 South lead on the line. The Sun Devils and Utes are tied with Arizona and USC for the division lead at 2-1. Arizona State is coming off an impressive win, outlasting Washington State 38-34 in Tempe.

STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Stanford has bounced back from a three-game skid in September by winning the past two games. The Cardinal get a shot to extend that streak on Thursday when they host UCLA, their favorite opponent of the past decade. Stanford has won 11 straight games against in-state rival UCLA, the longest streak any team has ever had against the Bruins.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon's defense has been revived under new defensive coordinator Andy Avalos and it is having a historic run for the No. 12 Ducks. Oregon has reeled off five straight wins after dropping its season opener against Auburn. The Ducks now sit atop the Pac-12's North Division at 3-0, their best start in conference play since 2013.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — UCLA will honor Olympic decathlon champion Rafer Johnson and his wife Betsy by naming the track at Drake Stadium for the couple. The dedication ceremony is Oct. 25. Johnson won gold in the decathlon at the 1960 Rome Games after earning silver four years earlier in Melbourne. He began his UCLA career in 1955 as captain of the freshman team. He ran on the varsity from 1956 to 1958 and led the Bruins to their first NCAA track and field championship in 1956.

UNDATED (AP) — The number of enforced targeting penalties are down 32% in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision compared with the first seven weeks of the 2018 season. Targeting is the act of striking a defenseless opponent above the shoulders or using the crown of the helmet to contact an opponent. It has been a major player-safety concern for a decade.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Graduation rates for college athletes have hit another record, this time 89% overall, according to statistics released by the NCAA. That's up 1 percentage point from last year's previous one-year high and almost 10 percentage points of the goal established by the late Myles Brand when the measure was first introduced 17 years ago. This year's number tracks college athletes who first enrolled in college in 2012.
