CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — No. 1 Clemson is looking for consistency from quarterback Trevor Lawrence and tailback Travis Etienne. The preseason Heisman Trophy candidates have been impressive at times but Lawrence has thrown five interceptions, more than the four picks he had all of last year. Etienne opened with a career best 205 yards rushing and three TDs against Georgia Tech. But he's gained 129 yards and no touchdowns since.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Syracuse coach Dino Babers remains optimistic despite two straight lopsided losses. He says teams are trying to stop the run and force Orange quarterback Tommy DeVito to throw more. DeVito is 60 of 101 for 678 yards and three touchdowns with four interceptions.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State coach Wililie Taggart says junior defensive end/outside linebacker Joshua Kaindoh will miss the rest of the season with a lower-leg injury. Kaindoh had nine tackles and one sack in three games this season.

BOSTON (AP) — Add another bowl game to the mix, this one at Fenway Park. The century-old baseball park will host a matchup in 2020 between teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference and the American Athletic Conference. The date for the Fenway Bowl is expected to be announced on Tuesday. It will be the first college bowl game at the home of the Boston Red Sox.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Virginia men's basketball coach Tony Bennett has declined a pay raise and instead asked school officials for additional compensation for his staff and program improvement. Officials said in a news release Monday Bennett did sign a one-year contract extension, but instead of a pay hike he asked athletic director Carla Williams to focus his staff and the program. Bennett and his wife also made a $500,000 contribution toward a career-development program for current and former players.
