CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina coach Mack Brown is savoring his return to coaching in a second stint with the Tar Heels. Brown had worked in broadcasting since his departure from Texas after the 2013 season. But he says the time away rejuvenated him for his chance to return to the sideline. Now he's trying to stabilize a UNC program that has won two Atlantic Coast Conference games over the past two seasons. Brown guided the North Carolina football into top-10 national status more than two decades ago.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Shaquille Quarterman took a long look at leaving Miami for the NFL after his junior season, and it would not have been a shocker to see the Hurricanes' best linebacker turn pro. He ultimately came back, seeking a picture-perfect ending. At Miami, All-Americans get their picture on the high on the wall of the team's practice facility. Quarterman looks at that wall, sees the best players ever to take the field with the "U" on the side of their helmet _ and wants to be part of that group.
