MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Sawyer Smith threw three touchdown passes and B.J. Smith ran for 170 yards to lead Troy over in-state rival South Alabama 38-17 on Tuesday night.

Sawyer Smith also ran for a 1-yard score in the final minutes for the Trojans (6-2, 4-0 Sun Belt Conference), who won their 10th straight league game and rebounded from a loss to Liberty.

B.J. Smith's 22 carries included a 36-yard touchdown and a 56-yard run.

Evan Orth completed 18 of 29 passes for 275 yards for South Alabama (2-6, 1-3). He threw for a pair of touchdowns but was intercepted three times.

Troy's Terence Dunlap intercepted a pass in the end zone and returned it 88 yards to set up the final touchdown.

Troy's Damion Willis caught five passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

Making his second start in place of an injured Kaleb Barker, Sawyer Smith completed 9 of 16 passes for 158 yards. Troy was coming off an upset loss to Liberty.
