DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is calling the attack on Saudi Arabia's oil industry an "act of war" against the kingdom by Iran. The Saudis, meanwhile, are displaying missile and drone wreckage and citing other evidence that they say shows the raid was "unquestionably sponsored by Iran." Iran has denied involvement in the attack and warned the U.S. it will retaliate immediately if it is targeted. President Donald Trump says he will increase financial sanctions on Tehran over the attack.

OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) — Conservative leader Andrew Scheer says a yearbook photo showing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in brownface makeup at a costume party in 2001 shows he is not fit to govern Canada. Scheer says what Canadians are seeing is a man who lacks judgment and integrity. He made the brief statement Wednesday night and did not take questions. Scheer is the leader of the main opposition party that is looking to unseat Trudeau in the upcoming election.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — President Donald Trump says the Environmental Protection Agency will be "putting out a notice" of violations in San Francisco related to its homeless population. Trump told reporters Wednesday aboard Air Force One that a tremendous amount of waste, including needles, is going through storm drains into the ocean. Trump says: "They have to clean it up. We can't have our cities going to hell."

JERUSALEM (AP) — After a decade of mesmerizing world leaders, subduing his rivals and eking out dramatic election victories, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's political future is suddenly in doubt. With near-final results from Israel's election on Tuesday, he has been left well short of the parliamentary majority he had sought. That majority was needed not only for him to continue in power but also to fend off a looming corruption indictment.

BOSTON (AP) — U.S. Rep. Joe Kennedy III is set to announce a Democratic primary challenge to U.S. Sen. Edward Markey in 2020. A person with knowledge of Kennedy's plans told The Associated Press he will formally make the announcement Saturday. The person was not authorized to preempt Kennedy's announcement and spoke Wednesday on condition of anonymity. The 38-year-old grandson of Robert Kennedy has been weighing a decision for several weeks.
