WASHINGTON (AP) — With questions mounting over President Donald Trump's tough talk on Iran, top national security officials are heading to Capitol Hill to brief Congress. But skeptical Democrats will hear a second opinion. The competing closed-door sessions Tuesday come after weeks of escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf that have raised alarms over a possible military confrontation with Iran. Trump threatened Monday to meet provocations from Iran with "great force," but also said he's willing to negotiate.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Yemen's Houthi rebels say they launched a bomb-laden drone targeting an airport in Saudi Arabia that also has a military base inside of it. The Houthi's Al-Masirah satellite news channel said they targeted the airport in Najran, striking an "arms depot" there. A statement earlier Tuesday in Saudi state media says the Houthis "had tried to target" a civilian site in Najran.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump's former fixer told Congress it was Trump's personal attorney who suggested he tell lawmakers that the negotiations for Trump Tower Moscow ended months before they actually did. The House released transcripts of Michael Cohen's testimony on Monday. He provided no direct proof that Jay Sekulow knew the end date was false, but claims Sekulow should've known because he had access to emails and other communications. Sekulow's attorneys say Cohen's testimony isn't credible.

HOUSTON (AP) — A 16-year-old Guatemala migrant who died in U.S. custody had been held by immigration authorities for six days _ twice as long as federal law generally permits _ then transferred him to another holding facility even after he was diagnosed with the flu. The teenager, identified by U.S. Customs and Border Protection as Carlos Gregorio Hernandez Vasquez, was the fifth minor from Guatemala to die after being apprehended by U.S. border agents since December.

MONTOURSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — President Donald Trump is claiming that former Vice President Joe Biden "deserted" Pennsylvania. Trump and Biden have made Pennsylvania front and center in the efforts to win the presidency in 2020. Biden was born in Scranton and served as a U.S. senator from Delaware. At a campaign rally Monday, Trump said: "He left you for another state. Remember that please. I meant to say that."
