WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Mike Pence is joining President Donald Trump in calling the favorable conclusions of the special counsel's Russia investigation a complete vindication of the president and their campaign. Attorney General William Barr said Sunday that the investigation found no evidence that Trump's campaign "conspired or coordinated" with Russia in the 2016 election. But special counsel Robert Mueller did not exonerate Trump of obstruction of justice or find that he committed a crime.
UNDATED (AP) — California Sen. Kamala Harris sent a subtle signal to the nation's old-guard political leadership: there's a time to move aside. At an Atlanta church service Sunday dedicated to youth, the presidential candidate compared leadership to a relay race in which older leaders must ask themselves and decide "when to pass the baton." Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand made her official announcement in front of the Trump International Hotel and Tower in New York and called him a coward who "punches down."
STAVANGER, Norway (AP) — The Viking Sky cruise ship has docked in the western Norwegian port of Molde, and the company says all its passengers are safe and will begin flying home immediately. The Viking Ocean Cruises company said the next scheduled trip for the boat, a visit to Scandinavia that was to leave Wednesday, has been cancelled. It thanked the Norwegian rescue services for helping evacuate so many passengers by helicopter.
WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — New Zealand's prime minister has announced a top-level inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the massacre of 50 people in Christchurch mosques. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the highest form of investigation, a royal commission of inquiry, was appropriate for "matters of the gravest public importance." An Australian white supremacist is charged in the March 15 attacks.
RANKIN, Pa. (AP) — The mother of a black teenager shot and killed by a white police officer outside Pittsburgh told supporters at a vigil that she was glad to see her son's life celebrated at a place that meant so much to him. Michelle Kenney, mother of 17-year-old Antwon Rose II, joined scores at the Hawkins Village housing complex in Rankin. People brought red roses, white flowers and candles, and purple ribbons to the basketball court _ which Kenney called "his spot" _ where they sang and prayed.
