CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand (AP) — Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says New Zealand is immediately banning sales of high-capacity magazines and "military style semi-automatic rifles" like the weapons used in last Friday's attacks on two Christchurch mosques. Ardern announced the ban Thursday and said it would be followed by legislation to be introduced next month. She said the gunman purchased his weapons legally and enhanced their capacity with products easily bought online.

Those reviews scramble an ambitious schedule set by Boeing and could tarnish the FAA's reputation across the globe.
SAN DIEGO (AP) — Scheduling glitches led an immigration judge to deny the Trump administration's request to order four Central American migrants deported because they failed to show for initial hearings Wednesday in the U.S. while being forced to wait in Mexico. The judge's refusal was a setback for the administration's highly touted initiative to make asylum seekers wait in Mexico while their cases wind through U.S. immigration courts.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is escalating his attacks on the late Sen. John McCain, saying that he gave the longtime lawmaker "the kind of funeral he wanted" and "I didn't get a thank you." Trump went on a lengthy diatribe against the Vietnam war hero, Arizona senator and 2008 Republican presidential candidate on Wednesday. At an event in Ohio, Trump repeated his complaint that McCain voted against his legislation to repeal President Barack Obama's health care law.
BERLIN (AP) — Nine days before Britain is scheduled to leave the European Union, Prime Minister Theresa May has asked the bloc for a delay. EU leaders exasperated by the melodrama will only grant the extension if May can win the U.K. Parliament's approval for her twice-rejected Brexit deal. Otherwise, the U.K. faces a chaotic "no-deal" departure within days, or a much longer delay May says she will not allow while she is in power.
